Healthy Eating at Thanksgiving

Cranberries are often referred to as a "Super Food". Half a cup of cranberries contains only 25 calories. The nutrients in cranberries have been linked to a lower risk of urinary tract infections, prevention of certain types of cancer, improved immune function, and decreased blood pressure.

This is the time of year to use this super food. They are available and also freeze well. Stock up now and use this recipe through out the year.

Holiday Cranberry Relish

Ingredients:1 16 oz. Pkg Fresh Cranberries, 1 Med. Pear (Diced), 1 Med. Apple (Diced),1/4 Cup Orange Juice, 1 tsp. Grated Ginger, 1 TBS Balsamic Vinegar

Directions: Blend cranberries in a blender or food processor. In a bowl, combine blended cranberries and rest of ingredients.
