OK, let's face it Super Bowl is like the holidays when it comes to having permission to overeat! I did it for years! All I can do is tell you what has worked for me, after struggling for a long, long time. Here's a few of my strategies:
1. Choice a couple things you REALLY enjoy. You don;t have to sample everything.
2. Eat more vegetables and very few chips with the dip . (Guacamole is a good choice for the dip. Avocados are a healthy fat) And whoever started mixing in mayo! It just doesn't make sense and certainly doesn't taste better!
3. Offer to bring something and bring a dish that you know is healthy. (You make the Guacamole and bring vegetables.) or (a platter of grilled chicken strips) or (shrimp with cocktail sauce) or (mushroom, tomato, basil frittata). Check out www.weightlossslo.com for more ideas.
4. Start eating at half time instead of eating the entire game. Moderation is always key! Our lives need balance, not over indulgence.
Remember these are things that I tell myself and just sharing. No matter what you do, never, never, never beat yourself up!!! Life is Good.
